This striking porcelain teapot is a finely decorated reproduction in the style of Ming Dynasty Xuande period wares. Crafted in the 1970s, it features rich Famille Verte (Wucai) enamel decoration with a vivid palette of red, yellow, green, and blue overglaze enamels. The body is adorned with intricate motifs of lotus flowers, mandarin ducks, and scrolling foliage—symbolizing harmony, fidelity, and prosperity in traditional Chinese culture.
A molded relief peach-shaped finial crowns the lid, while the spout and handle are elaborately formed and embellished with auspicious symbols. The teapot sits on a raised foot with a classic key-fret border in alternating green and iron-red enamels. The base bears a red-enameled six-character “大明宣德年製” (Da Ming Xuande Nian Zhi) apocryphal mark in reference to the Ming dynasty reign.
